I have New Years nails to share!! Though I'm not super thrilled about them. The plan was to make them look like champagne...but all the colors I used were a little too similar so it just kind of blends into one big shiny color. There is a goldish gradient underneath it all, a little glitter and shimmery white tips, but it's hard to see. I at least blinged it up with my accent nail. I wish they were full out bling, but I don't really have any major plans anyways. So here they are!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I kept my Christmas nails for Christmas and then went up to Jay Peak VT for a few days! 4 nails have peeled off completely so my hands look terrible, but it's fine...I'll probably only have time to remove what's left tonight but I should be doing New Years nails shortly. Hope everyone had a good holiday!
Christmas mani time!! I decided to do a little bit of everything for this mani. I put a picture on my Facebook Page of all my Christmas colored nail polish the other day saying "What to do...what to do...?" I got a request for a Christmas sweater, bulbs & poinsettias, so I did each of those as well as a tree and a present.
I did the Christmas sweater last thinking it would be the hardest. I was going to try and do this tutorial but it definitely was not as easy as it looks. So I ended up just doing dots and stripes but I love it!
Also, I think my poinsettia is terrible, but I'm over it, hahaha.
Time to get festive! Like I said, I'm taking a break from the 31 Day Challenge to do some Christmas/New Years manis.
So here are some candy cane nails! Very simple, done with tape strips. My uncle's girlfriend asked me if I could give her a candy cane mani, so I thought I would practice on myself first, and I love it. I think it's so cute!
I'm still hereeee! I've just been loving the chevron mani I did so much that I didn't want to take it off...in fact I still have it on. But I plan on doing my nails tomorrow! I'm thinking I'm going to finish the 31 Day Challenge after New Years because I want to do some Christmas manis. It's not like I've been rushing with the challenge anyways.
So instead of my own nails, I have a fun post today. I did two of my cousin's nails and a friend's today. I'm not quite as good at doing other people's so they're not quite as clean, but I am especially proud of the South Park mani! I wasn't expecting them to come out good at all but figured I'd at least try it. I think they're adorable!!
Then I have some Christmas tips, and some radio active looking snake skin!
I've been looking for a gold & white chevron scarf/gloves/mittens, so I decided to use that pattern as my inspiration!
For today's post, I was going to try a free hand chevron mani, but I started on one finger and faileeeeed. So I decided to take the stamping approach. Can I just say, I cannot get into stamping. I'm pretty terrible at it, and they never seem to look as opaque and clean as other blogger's manis. But I felt like for a pattern I had no other choice. I actually think these came out okay, but I'm super envious of other stampers. I just don't understand...practice I guess.
I screwed some of my nails up bumping them and stamping too early/crooked/with weird marks and did them 2-3 times over. Didn't care quite as much about my right hand, my thumb is only like 2/3 covered, hahaha.
Oh yea I cut my nails too...they were looking really peely and bad, plus I can't really use stamps when my nails are long.
I used OPI: Glitzerland as my base color, but I don't think you can see it at all, so kinda pointless. Then a coat of Essie: Beyond Cozy which I'm so in love with. So pretty! Then My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the stamp.
So I'm in love with these! This is something I've been dying to try since I first saw it on pshiiit's blog (couldn't find the blog link). I'm a huge Christian Louboutin lover and would kill for a pair of Loubs...ok probably not but I really really really really want a pair!!! Anywayyyys I figured this was a great excuse to do these!
Incase for some strange reason you don't know what Louboutin's look like, every pair has a red sole. So the underside of my nails are painted red!
So I thought the red looked great under my nails, until I added the black. Then you could hardly see the red! I should have done a white coat first, but o well. You can see it alright in the photos, but in real life, forget about it. I still love them though. Oh and I didn't notice that wrinkle on my index finger till I was taking the photos.
