Hunger Games Nails

31 Day Challenge: Inspired By A Book

I never used to be a huge reader, like I explained in my last post, but my little cousin convinced me to read The Hunger Games right before the movie came out. Best decision I ever made. I'm completely obsessed, and in love with Peeta Mellark, and Josh Hutcherson...yea I'm 25, but that's fine...

So of course I used The Hunger Games for this inspiration mani! I couldn't decided if I should do the flames, or the Effie nails from the movie...but those weren't described in the book, so I'll have to try those another time because I've been dying to do them.

I did the flame nails because in the book her prep team paints flames on her nails to match their whole costume theme. I just painted a black base and went to town with a brush. I did a gold base for the flames, then went from yellow to orange to red while mixing in gold glitter. Top coat and done! Pretty quick and easy.

Don't mind my cuticle...I pushed it back and black nail polish all seeped under it and it was not coming out....

I used:
  • OPI: Black Onyx
  • OPI: Need Sunglasses?
  • OPI: Brights Power
  • OPI: Goldeneye
  • OPI: The Spy Who Loved Me
  • Essie: Good As Gold
  • Seche Vite: Dry Fast Top Coat
