Splatter Paint Nails!

HII GUYS! I'm so excited about this mani! I LOVED LOVED LOVED THEM. Though I don't think I will ever do them again. Hahaha. Splatter paint nails are crazy messy. Though if I wasn't in a slight hurry I could have taped them or something at least, but I didn't feel like it/was too excited to start them.

I used the straw method (dipping a straw in polish and blowing) and my boyfriend helped me. He told me he wanted to do my nails which would be funny, but I needed them done for the cookout we were having the next day. So I told him he actually could help with these! We both did a few colors and I think they came out awesome! Definitely worth the hour clean-up, but yea, I probably won't do them again any time soon.

Oh also, I took a few photos of my right hand. I think some of the nails on that hand came out better so I wanted to show them. What do you think?

Nude to Orange Gradient Nails!

Hey everyone! As I said, I did a little nail art over my Jenna Hipp nude! I just did a simple gradient and added a little heart in the same orange to my ring finger. I wanted to try out the hole punch nail decal method, so that's how I did the heart.
I painted a few coat of the orange onto some wax paper, peeled it off after it was dry (a few days later) and used a heart shaped hole punch on it. I think it's sort of cheating, but it's super easy and convenient.

Oh P.S. Did I mention that Jenna Hipp commented on my Instagram photos of my last mani & Tweeted at me!! Baaaaahh! So cool!

GUYS. I found my new favorite nudes. Have you heard of Jenna Hipp? She's a celebrity nail stylist, or "The Green Celebrity Manicurist" as she calls herself. I don't know how well known she is in the nail blogging community, but I found out about her because I'm a total Gleek and she does Lea Michele's nails, so she retweets her sometimes. She teamed up with RGB cosmetics to create a line of polish similar to skin foundation, but for your nails! There are 4 foundations, 4 Tints, and 4 Sheers. I've always felt like the nudes I own don't "fit" me as well as I'd like them to, so I thought I would try some of these. I bought F2, which is the second foundation color and T1, which is the lightest tint. I love them both! I swatched both of these for you guys, but I did some nail art with one of them as well. I'm going to save that for the next post though!

I'm curious too if layering the tint over the foundation would give me an even closer nude...

These are F2!

What do you guys think?

Zoya Pixie Dust Gradient Nails!

Hey guys! How are ya?

Today I have some Pixie Dust Nails! I bought 3 of the shades and finally got around to using them. I feel like I need to do another mani with them soon though. I decided to do a gradient because I didn't want to just swatch them and the texture drove me crazy! My Valentine's Day mani used a gray Pixie Dust shade but it was only on one finger. I don't know if that made it more tolerable or my gradient was just so thick it drove me nuts. I have the blue shade on my toes and it feel much nicer on there. I'm thinking normal coats would feel better. The gradient was just such a weird thing to do with them, they didn't blend too well but I think they still looked pretty cool. It was just the feeling of them, I wanted to just rub all my nails together and scrape it off, hahaha. Don't worry though, I didn't!!

Check em out, how do you like the Pixie Dust shades??

Tri Colored Tape Nails!

Hi again!

I have an interesting mani today I think. I decided to do a three color tape mani with some funky colors. I painted on some really thick layers though for opacity, didn't end up loving it on my actual nails but I think they look good in the photos! I don't know what it was, I think they just weren't very "me" if you know what I mean. I took them off the next day, haha. Before adding the red though they reminded me of Princess Jasmine! (She's my favorite Princess) Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for such a bright mani for some reason...anyways, what do you think?

I used:
  • OPI: Oy-Another Polish Joke!
  • Essie: Where's My Chauffeur?
  • Essie: Hip-Anema

Watercolor Nails!

Hello hello hellloooo

Tonight I have some watercolorish nails for you. I looooved they way they turned out. I thought they were so pretty and springy. Picked out a bunch of pastels and with a nail art brush just added thin strokes in random places till I liked the way it looked. Basically the same technique I used for my Monet nails, which I have a tutorial for in my navigation bar.

What do you think?
