Christmas Puke Nails

Hey!! I finally have some festive holiday nails! This time, with a tutorial, but it's over at The Wonder Forest! Go check it out.

It's my take on my marble nails, but I did it with Christmas colors, you can of course use whatever colors you want. I think they look like someone threw up Christmas all over these nails, but in a totally good way! Hahaha. The photos at the end have them with some glitter on top, for even more festiveness.

GalaxSEA Nails!

A while ago, a friend of mine, asequinedlife, entered a contest. I posted the link on my Facebook page to help her get some votes. She had to make a vision board and the winners got to make their own nail polish color. My friend was one of the winners, so of course I had to get her color! It's a gorgeous purple with small blue flecks in certain lighting, so she named it GalaxSea.

I'm not usually one to swatch, so I added a simple gold stripe down the center of each nail.

I used:
  • Rescue Beauty Lounge: Galaxsea

Marble Nails!

Heyy! Have you been seeing the marble nail trend lately? I absolutely love it, so I wanted to take a stab at it. Not sure what other people's methods are, but mine involved marbling polish together on some paper first and painting it on with a striping brush. I may put a tutorial together, so stay tuned! This was also a bit hard to photograph because it's so subtle. Brighter colors next time!

Abstract Sponged Nails!

OMG! Guys, I woke up this morning to a notification saying Grace Potter herself retweeted my nails! She wrote "Grooooovy." Hahaha, fan-girling so hard. I'll put the screenshot at the bottom of this post. Bahhhh!!

Ok on to new nails! I wasn't sure what to call these, but I love them. I used a sheer nude base color and then sponged a few colors on different spots on each nail, making sure to overlap and fade some of them. I really liked them to start but once I added the gold I fell in love.

I used:
  • Essie: Sugar Daddy
  • Essie: Good As Gold

  • OPI: My Dogsled Is A Hybrid

Midnight-Grace Potter Nails!

Hey there! I don't know if you noticed, but I never posted a Halloween mani this year. I had concert plans for Halloween and decided not to dress up because I was going with my dad, and he wasn't going to dress up so that seemed a little odd. I did however re-use my Tinkerbell costume from last year for a Halloween themed museum night, but I did the same nails as last year, so no need to post them again.

HOWEVER. I did do my nails on Halloween. Funny story actually. Halloween morning, I actually had a dream that I was an hour late for the concert because I was doing my nails and my dad was screaming at me. HYSTERICAL. Well, it almost came true. I ended up going for a run, took of my old polish (glitter-took FOREVER), showered, did my two little cousins' nails, and helped my mom do her Halloween make-up. So stressed out I was all "I NEED TO DO MY NAILS!" I managed to get them done in time, but it was a close call…HA.

ANYWAY-ON TO NAILS. I went to see Grace Potter (AGAIN!) and decided to do my nails based on the cover of her new album "Midnight", minus her face. I loved the way these turned out, and they half glowed in the dark. (bonus!) Also, concert was fantastic. I can't recommend Grace enough, she's a friggan rock goddess.

I Used:
  • OPI: Pamplona Purple
  • OPI: Suzi's Hungary Again!
  • Serum No.5: Day Glow
  • China Glaze: Pixie Dust

Mockingjay Part 2 Nails!

The day is here guys. Mockingjay Part 2 comes out tonight!!!! I'm seeing it in IMAX! I'm so sad this is the end but so excited to see it! I'm going to sob so hard. I'm kind of concerned for my health. I cried when I finished the book. Like, why? I don't even know. I think just because it ended and it made me emotional. I just finished re-reading the second half of the book the other night to refresh my memory, don't worry though, I didn't cry this time.

Per usual, I have to do a mani for this day. You can check out my other "Hunger Games" mani's here (yikes), here, here & here.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do, since I already did Mockingjay nails based on the book cover. I decided to go with the red spray painted rebel Mockingjay from some of the early promo posters. I did it across two fingers, so they have to be lined up just right to tell what it is...I added some arrows of course to my index & pinkie nail and then made a sort of fire explosion on my thumb?

Anyone else going tonight??

Gradient Side Stripe Nails!

I have some incredibly bright nails today considering it's fall…BUT I LOVE THEM. FALL CAN WAIT!

These were loosely inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, but it doesn't really look anything like it so I won't even show you. For these I started with a nude base color, then took a makeup sponge and sponged on a few bright orange and pink colors on one side of my nail, making sure you could still see some of the nude color. On my index finger only, I sponged on blue. Then with different shades of turquoise and blue I made various sized lines across my nails going from the nude side of my nail to the side I sponged the color on. Clean-up, top coat and done! Not crazy difficult but they really pop!

Nude Geometric Nails

I was craving some clean nude nails recently and stumbled upon these nails and loved them. They're so simple but fun. They have a toned down tribal kind of feel, which I love, and they went well with any outfit I wore!
