Beach Nails!

I'm in denial. How is it already the end of August? That is so depressing. I am not ready for another insane Boston winter. Ugh. I'm not one of those people who gets excited for fall either. Don't get me wrong, there are some really nice fall days, and I enjoy them, but to me it's just a step closer to winter.

Well to trick myself into forgetting that summer is ending, I did some beach nails, and I'm sort of in love with them. I think if I had to wear one manicure for the rest of my life, this would be it. I cannot stop staring at my fingers and day dreaming.

I should probably go to the beach at least one more time.

I was inspired to do these because I received some really cute beach themed studs from Born Pretty Store and I somehow had never done beach nails before?

For these I started with a light coat of Essie: Absolutely Shore, and then used a makeup sponge to make a gradient from Blue/Green to Nude. Then I went in with a thin brush dipped in sheer white and made little squiggly shore lines and waves, then added in some more waves with the darker blue/green. I added some Seche Vite, added the adorable little seashells/starfish and added more Seche on top of just the seashell fingers. I also took a few pieces of glitter from Zoya: Monet and put them in the sand, but you probably can't see them. Then once it was dry I used a small brush to add some sand with a Textured Zoya Pixie Dust.

Wall Art Nails!

Hi! Today I have some colorful nails!

Kind of a weird inspiration. I don't know if you follow the blog Sugar & Cloth, but in March she posted about a trip to Miami and took a photo in front of this really awesome painted wall. I loved it and pinned it and finally got around to trying to paint it on my nails. I'll definitely admit that the wall looks way cooler than my nails turned out, but I got a bunch of compliments on these and they were really fun to wear!

Palm Nails!

Hey guys! I'm back from vacation! (I know, I didn't even tell you I was going on vacation...) I was hoping to post these before I left, but I obviously did not.

So I've been seeing palm prints all over the place this summer and I've been loving them. For this mani I used a Pinterest photo for inspiration, but it turned out nothing like it so I'm not going to show you. I do like the way these turned out, I just kind of wish I did them over white instead of nude.

  • OPI: Green-wich Village
  • OPI: Don't Mess With OPI
