Geometric Gold Striped Nails

Hey there! Long time no see! It's been a little longer than I planned, but for good reason…I think. If you follow me on Instagram you might have noticed that MY FAMILY GOT A KITTEN! :) He's black with a little white and his name is Linus. (Photo at the end of the post) We got him from the local humane society for Christmas. We were supposed to get him on Christmas Eve, but he had a kitty cold and was sneezing so they had to keep him for a few more weeks on medication. My sister & nephew have his sister kitty, so we reunited them a few days ago. Sooo cute. Anyways, he's super adorable and it's so hard to motivate myself to do anything when this cute ball of fur is around, I just wanna snuggle him all day. #sorrynotsorry

I'm going to try and get more nails done from now on though. Linus isn't much of a snuggler yet so if he isn't playing he's lounging by the wood stove. I have to pick him up when he's asleep to get him to snuggle with me, so he shouldn't bother me too much while I'm doing my nails. Except yesterday he was trying to attack my nail file while I was filing…

So these nails I saw on Pinterest, and I loved them. I really love partially nude/negative space nails right now. These are pretty much a direct copy of these nails that were on So Nailicious. I don't know which polishes she used though and I just did it freehand, so it's not quite as crisp. I also did not use a sheer nude base, but I wish I did. Oh weelllll.

 I used:
  • OPI: On Her Majesty's Secret Service
  • Essie: Good As Gold
  • Seche Vite: Dry Fast Top Coat

New Years Eve Nails!

Happy New Year everyone!! I'm back with the sparkly mani I wore on New Years Eve! How was your Christmas & New Years? I spent my Christmas with my family, and New Years pretty low key with a few friends and champagne. Perfect.

These were easy to do! I did two coats of black polish. Then used a striping brush to make thin stripes of different lengths with "OPI: Desperately Seeking Sequins." Then used different sized dotting tools to make gold dots fading from the tips of my nails. I did the biggest dots at the tips and had them get smaller as they came down, like confetti!

I used:
  • OPI: Black Onyx
  • OPI: Desperately Seeking Sequins
  • OPI: Honey Ryder
  • Seche Vite: Dry Fast Top Coat
